I’ve been looking forward to Sam and Jason’s wedding for some time. We had so much fun at their engagement session, I knew I would get some amazing photos. They chose a beautiful venue, Delle Terra Mountain resort in Estes Park right next to the fall river entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. They had an intimate ceremony with breathtaking mountain views. After the reception we found a quiet spot for some romantic photos and even did a trash the dress session in a stream. Thanks Sam and Jason for inviting me to capture your beautiful wedding story.
Recent Work
We blog highlights of our recent sessions to give you a glimpse of the great clients we work with and the wide variety of styles we deliver at numerous locations around Fort Collins, Loveland, Windsor and Northern Colorado.
We met Zach in Old Town Fort Collins to explore some of the fun urban locations and even some of the less traveled back alleys. We didn't finish until after sunset so we had a chance to photograph with some beautiful orange clouds in the background. Zach's guitar was a great addition to some of his images.
Marissa and Jason's family and friends converged on the Tapestry House in Fort Collins for a beautiful summer morning wedding. The Tapestry House landscaping looked wonderful. The bride and groom chose a different entrance song for each attendant to match their personality. Catering was provided by Ken at Main Street Catering and pastor Josh Ratzlaff presided over the ceremony.
Lauren & Cody's ceremony and reception took place at Lauren's grandparents beautiful home in Evergreen, CO complete with mountain vistas and a stream running right through the back yard. Dave and Phyllis' prayers for beautiful weather were granted with clear blue skies for the ceremony and as we walked around the neighborhood for some fun and romantic photos afterward.
Jared wanted to do his senior portraits in some of the same kind of settings as his brother Cody had last year. We started out early on a Saturday morning at Horsetooth reservoir and got some great shots around the rocks and lake. Jared chose a longer session so we could also travel to downtown Fort Collins and photograph in some of the alleys. The great folks at Old Firehouse Books let us use the area behind their store which was inaccessible due to construction. Thanks! Have a great senior year Jared.

Hayden was looking for a little edgier senior photos with an urban feel. Where better than old town Fort Collins. Downtown was packed for first Friday but we managed to find a number of interesting spots that I had not photographed before. Hayden has a great, easy going, personality that made for a fun session and some great photos!

We met Linnea up the Big Thompson Canyon outside of Loveland Colorado at Viestenz Smith Mountain Park. It is a place she and her family have been many times. With only a hint of rain in the air we found many spots around the park and along the river for great portraits. Thanks Linnea for going along with some of our photo ideas, I think you really enjoy them.

Alli selected the CSU annual flower trial garden in Fort Collins for her senior portrait session. We had a beautiful afternoon with late day sun adding a beautiful warm tone to the photos. We found some great non-traditional spots and even got to include her dog Oreo in a few.

I was delighted that I could photograph Suzy and Todd's Della Terra wedding with my good friend Travis Broxton. We had some really unusual weather for summer in Estes Park Colorado with rapidly melting snow and a very rainy week bringing the rivers to near flood stage. This, however, also made for beautiful soft light and a light fog backdrop for our outdoor photos. Suzy & Todd's day even included a horse and carriage ride with their guests showering them in Jasmine as they passed. Enjoy a few of my favorite photos.
Marissa and Jason's wedding will be in September at the Tapestry House near Fort Collins. Since they live in Denver we chose downtown Denver for their engagement photos. It happened to be cloudy with a light drizzle for our session but we found some great locations and got some great photos near Union Station. That pretty much guarantees nice weather for their wedding doesn't it?
Lauren and Cody love the outdoors so we chose Viestenz Smith Mountain Park for their engagement photos. The Big Thompson River was flowing fast and made a great backdrop for photos. We also made a stop at the Loveland Feed and Grain in the warm late afternoon light. I love it's rustic flavor. I'm looking forward to their wedding at their grandparents home in Evergreen in August.
We photographed Elizabeth and Ryan's Wedding at The Chateau at Fox Meadows in Broomfield. What a great venue and exquisite weather to boot! Elizabeth had every detail carefully planned and everything came off without a hitch. They left ample time to capture all the emotion and romance that added to their splendid event. Elizabeth and Ryan are fellow Purdue alumni and came out from Indianapolis for their wedding near the Colorado Mountains. Their catering was done by Hearts Desire Catering and A Music Plus was the DJ. The cake was done by Nancy Best Cake Design and the flowers were by Statice Floral. Congratulations Elizabeth and Ryan.
Megan and I shot Beck & Aaron's wedding on 5/22 and really enjoyed being with them on their special day. The ceremony was a 1st Presbyterian Church in Cheyenne and the reception was at the garden room in Loveland. The planning was impeccable and they were such accommodating hosts. They left plenty of time for us to get some amazing shots. Their catering was done by All Occasions Catering from Fort Collins and the flowers were by Underwood Flowers. Their DJ was DJ Johnny Cruz and their limo came from Summit Limousine. Becky & Aaron will be coming to the studio tonight to debut their wedding photos with their family and friends. Here are some photos to get them in the mood for the big show tonight.
We brought Dylan to an out of the way spot along the Spring Creek in Fort Collins for his senior photos. We talked and joked with Dylan and his dad and made it a great experience. Considering he answered our pre-session questionnaire that he'd "rather eat dirt" than have his photograph taken, I think we surprised him with how fun we could make our session and we have some great photos to prove it.

Jeffrey wanted his senior photos taken at one of his favorite places, Ferrari - Maserati - Bentley - Lotus of Denver. Mark Dismuke was extremely accommodating and made Jeffrey's visit one to remember. Jeffrey chose his favorite automobiles for his photos and we spent several hours exploring and admiring the amazing machines. Although the Maseratis and Ferraris were exciting, Jeffrey's favorite was actually one of the Bentleys. Pure elegance. Now its off to college to start working on a downpayment on one of his own.
Sandie had picked out some fun "urban" downtown Fort Collins locations for her senior portrait session. We found a mix of graffiti, back alley painted walls and old porches all within the same block. Sandie was a pleasure to photograph with a variety of expressions as the session progressed and a nice mix of clothing styles. She got plenty of her favorite looks in her photos and plenty for mom to frame as well. We took care of getting her photo directly to the yearbook well before the deadline. We liked one of her photos so well it ended up on our 2011 senior advertising. Thanks for a great session Sandie.
Siri and Al had a small wedding and I was honored to take their first photos as man and wife! Here is a sampling!

We photographed Meg's senior portraits at the Colorado State University Annual Flower Trial Gardens near the CSU Center for the Arts and the old Fort Collins High School. She seemed really at ease in the beautiful gardens surrounded by her favorite colors.

Jenna chose Viestenz Smith Mountain Park and the CSU Annual Flower Trial Garden for her senior photos. The weather was just right for playing in the Big Thompson River and exploring the huge rocks on its banks. The CSU flower garden was in full bloom so we had lots of color options to complement her styles. We kept on photographing until the sun was long past setting and savored the last rays of deep orange light.
We had a great time taking Ashley to our favorite sites all around Northern Colorado for her senior portraits. Ashley especially wanted a mountain backdrop for her portraits so she and her parents came all the way from Omaha for us to photograph her. Ashley's portrait session spanned 2 days and we visited locations such as the Loveland Feed and Grain building, Viestenz-Smith Park, CSU Experimental Gardens and Horsetooth reservoir.
