We had Fun, Fun, Fun

Jen and Josh are a fun loving couple that really knew how to enjoy their wedding day. We started the day with their getting ready photos at Summitview Community Church in Fort Collins. This beautiful church has a spacious worship space which we used for their "First Look" photos. The florals came from Jen's grandmother, Carla. Moving around during the service was easy to do without disturbing the guests and the lighting at the alter was warm and bright making photographing easy. Following the ceremony the bridal party traveled in style via Hummer limo to Roland Moore Park where we did some wild bridal party photos and then my favorite, romantic photos with just Jen and Josh. A few minutes later we arrived at the Drake Center, a very nice and spacious venue and the dinner was wonderful. The craziness was just kicking into high gear with the cake smashing, I mean cake cutting and the garter and bouquet.  Jimmy from Sounds of the Rockies kept the party lively and the dance floor was always busy. Jen and Josh were always up for a "photo op" and they will be rewarded with some great images. Thanks Jen and Josh for a Fun, Fun, Fun day

Jacque and Lanny's Magical Day

Nevermind that Saturday and Monday were cold and dreary, Sunday was a magical day for Jacque and Lanny. The clouds parted and the sun shone on Brookside Gardens in Berthoud. Jacque looked radiant and Oh so natural. Lanny looked dashing in his marine dress blues. Brookside Gardens was awash with color and the staff made sure everything went smoothly. Michael at Behind the Scenes Catering served up a tantalizing meal and Butter Cream Cupcakery provided a unique and tasty cake creation.  Christine from the King Soopers floral dept provided elegant Rose bouquets and table decorations. Yan from Elite DJ did a remarkable job keeping a wide age range of guests on the dance floor all evening. Thanks Jacque and Lanny for inviting Megan and I to photograph your wedding and giving us  time to capture some amazing images.

Charlie & Jody's Loveland Wedding

Charlie and Jody's wedding was a tale of two cities with the ceremony to be held in the Benson Sculpture Park in Loveland and the reception at their favorite eatery, Nordy's in Fort Collins. We started photographing with their "first look" in the sculture park but the cool temperatures dictated a switch to "plan B" with the ceremony moved to nearby All Saints Episcopal Church. Charlie and Jody braved the temperatures for some fun and romantic photos around the park before the rain set in. Thanks for having us Charlie and Jody, we had a great time!

Mary & Robbie's Engagement Session

Mary and Robbie ordered up a sunny warm early May day for their engagement session. We found lots of fun spots in Denver's Washington Park for some fun and romantic photos. Megan and I are looking forward to their ceremony in July at Good Shepherd Church and Reception at the Westin Tabor Center.  Its been a cool and rainy month since then, and we are looking forward to another warm sunny day

Jacque and Lanny Engagement

We photographed Jacque and Lanny at Edora Park in Fort Collins on a warm and sunny February afternoon. We photographed Jacque for her senior photographs and it's great that Megan and I will be photographing their wedding in May at Brookside Gardens in Berthoud. Jacque is always so relaxed for photos and Lanny is warmed up now so the wedding photos should be great. Congratulations on your engagement Jacque and Lanny.

Samantha and Jason

I’ve been looking forward to Sam and Jason’s wedding for some time. We had so much fun at their engagement session, I knew I would get some amazing photos. They chose a beautiful venue, Delle Terra Mountain resort in Estes Park right next to the fall river entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. They had an intimate ceremony with breathtaking mountain views. After the reception we found a quiet spot for some romantic photos and even did a trash the dress session in a stream. Thanks Sam and Jason for inviting me to capture your beautiful wedding story.

Marissa and Jason's Tapestry House Wedding

Marissa and Jason's family and friends converged on the Tapestry House in Fort Collins for a beautiful summer morning wedding. The Tapestry House landscaping looked wonderful. The bride and groom chose a different entrance song for each attendant to match their personality. Catering was provided by Ken at Main Street Catering and pastor Josh Ratzlaff presided over the ceremony.

Lauren and Cody's Evergreen Wedding

Lauren & Cody's ceremony and reception took place at Lauren's grandparents beautiful home in Evergreen, CO complete with mountain vistas and a stream running right through the back yard. Dave and Phyllis' prayers for beautiful weather were granted with clear blue skies for the ceremony and as we walked around the neighborhood for some fun and romantic photos afterward.

Suzy & Todd's Della Terra Wedding

I was delighted that I could photograph Suzy and Todd's Della Terra wedding with my good friend Travis Broxton. We had some really unusual weather for summer in Estes Park Colorado with rapidly melting snow and a very rainy week bringing the rivers to near flood stage. This, however, also made for beautiful soft light and a light fog backdrop for our outdoor photos. Suzy & Todd's day even included a horse and carriage ride with their guests showering them in Jasmine as they passed. Enjoy a few of my favorite photos.

Marissa & Jason

Marissa and Jason's wedding will be in September at the Tapestry House near Fort Collins. Since they live in Denver we chose downtown Denver for their engagement photos. It happened to be cloudy with a light drizzle for our session but we found some great locations and got some great photos near Union Station. That pretty much guarantees nice weather for their wedding doesn't it?

Lauren & Cody

Lauren and Cody love the outdoors so we chose Viestenz Smith Mountain Park for their engagement photos. The Big Thompson River was flowing fast and made a great backdrop for photos. We also made a stop at the Loveland Feed and Grain in the warm late afternoon light. I love it's rustic flavor. I'm looking forward to their wedding at their grandparents home in Evergreen in August.

Elizabeth & Ryan

We photographed Elizabeth and Ryan's Wedding at The Chateau at Fox Meadows in Broomfield. What a great venue and exquisite weather to boot! Elizabeth had every detail carefully planned and everything came off without a hitch. They left ample time to capture all the emotion and romance that added to their splendid event. Elizabeth and Ryan are fellow Purdue alumni and came out from Indianapolis for their wedding near the Colorado Mountains. Their catering was done by Hearts Desire Catering and A Music Plus was the DJ. The cake was done by Nancy Best Cake Design and the flowers were by Statice Floral. Congratulations Elizabeth and Ryan.

Becky & Aaron's Wedding

Megan and I shot Beck & Aaron's wedding on 5/22 and really enjoyed being with them on their special day. The ceremony was a 1st Presbyterian Church in Cheyenne and the reception was at the garden room in Loveland.  The planning was impeccable and they were such accommodating hosts. They left plenty of time for us to get some amazing shots. Their catering was done by All Occasions Catering from Fort Collins and the flowers were by Underwood Flowers. Their DJ was DJ Johnny Cruz and their limo came from Summit Limousine. Becky & Aaron will be coming to the studio tonight to debut their wedding photos with their family and friends. Here are some photos to get them in the mood for the big show tonight.

Nicole and Billy Tie the Knot.

We had beautiful weather in Littleton for Nicole and Billy's wedding. Their ceremony was at Light of the World Catholic Church and the reception overlooking the foothills at Terrace Gardens.  The flowers from Palmer Flowers in Fort Collins were beautiful as was the cake from Cakes Amore. Before the reception we slipped away for a few minutes to South Valley Park for some romantic photos. The rocks, lake and tall grasses made for some amazing photos of this highly photogenic couple.

Lindsey and DJ

Sometimes the personal touches make the best parts of a wedding! Lindsey and DJ felt it was important to include their extra family members in their wedding day festivities therefore their two beautiful dogs were the ring bearers. As they were finishing up their vows in the gazebo at the Tapestry House their friend, carefully holding the 2 dogs, loses his grip of their youngest Dog who jumps at the chance to join the fun running into the gazebo. DJ later said he wouldn't want it any other way. Every wedding is different and has it's own unexpected events which make it an even more perfect day! Congratulations Lindsey and DJ on a day of fun and unexpected events.

Gina and Scott

Gina and Scott love the outdoors and they love to be different! Their wedding was well planned, they actually were getting married in Colorado and then having a second reception in Tacoma, WA the next Week. The wedding was held at Saint Vincent DePaul Parish and then reception was held nearby at the Denver Botanic Gardens. The goal of the day was to bike with all their friends and family to the reception, yes bride in wedding dress and all. Well they were really flexible as just before the guests began to arrive the rain poured, the hail came and the thunder boomed. While it was unique, just as the bride and groom were announced the thunder welcomed the new couple, the bike ride and stop to slide down the inflatable slide at the local fair was cancelled. The couple still played out in the rain enjoying the unexpected change! It was such a fun and special day, Gina and Scott thanks for inviting us be a part of it.

The Rainbow above it all.

This wedding was truly blessed, with rain all morning we were able to hide under trees as the Colorado State University Oval to get some great family portraits. The wedding went well and after coming out from the ceremony a rainbow appeared in the sky. It was even more amazing when we made it to the reception hall at Saint Elizabeth Anne Seton. It was the blessing over the whole wedding.

A Hot Time at Rachel & Phil's Downtown Denver Wedding

Even the record temperatures in Denver couldn't put a damper on Rachel & Phil's lively wedding. We started at the beautiful and traditional Holy Ghost Catholic Church with a service by Father Mark from Boulder. Many of the students that Rachel teaches as St. Thomas More Parish School and their families were there along with a strong showing of college friends from Gonzaga University. The night went off smashingly.

Tonight we got to photograph Melissa and Sean who got married in Fort Collins at the Cottonwood Club. They got to use the whole venue which helped to have lots of places to take pictures. They were really fun, lots of laughter, joking and having fun all night long. We were able to take some time away from everyone else and go over to Fossil Creek Nusery next door photograph just the two of them, showing yet again that you really can photograph in many non traditional places.
